Filipina: In blood and spirit

THE PROGRESS
The illustration represents ethnic cultures in some parts of the Philippines. The accessories features the native products such as cotton, shells, beads and rattan. It was inspired by the tribes in Northern Luzon including the bontoc and Ifugao tribe. The boar's tusks necklace, also called as boaya necklace, was very rare and worn only by men. On the other hand, the clothing was inspired by the woven fabrics in Mindanao. The traditional woven fabric in Maguindanao is called Inaul which is known for the intricate designs and colorful pigments.
THE FINAL OUTPUT
The sketches in the background shows some abundant trees in the Philippines like mango and cashew nut. The tropical fruit, mango, is considered as the national symbol for fruit.
THANK YOU!
