Final Master Project: Resonant Interaction

As designers we spend so much time completely redesign the way our products look, their functionality and their meaning in the world. But why is it that we don't completely rethink the way we interact with them? Buttons, screens and dials are still the dominant interfaces for electronic products, but they were all developed from a perspective of usability and efficiency rather than for skill or beauty.

For the first semester in my Final Master Project on designing interactions that resonate with people, I investigated how to approach the design of interactions with products from the perspective of a craftsman. This 11 min. research documentary is what came out of it.

NB: This project is still in progress. At the moment I am doing an internship at Philips Design to apply my research to product design there.
