Karlovac Visualized 440 - Exhibition

As the Six-pointed Star celebrates 440 years of existence, a small group of people in Karlovac present the Karlovac Visualized 440 exhibition as a gift to their fellow citizens, but also to curious visitors. The idea is to tell, in a somewhat different and interesting way, the story of Karlovac as a town with a rich history, an exciting present, and a challenging future. The exhibition comprises 12 visualizations in the form of infographic posters that, in an unusual way, deal with the history, characteristics, and interesting facts related to Karlovac as well as its geographical and socioeconomic position compared to other towns in Croatia, the region, and the world. Besides its approach to the subject, what makes this exhibition different is the infographic media itself, which, in an optimal way, combines facts and statistical data with graphic elements and illustrations, thus turning a potentially dry read into visually exquisite content that draws the visitors’ attention. These visualizations will guide visitors into a world that appears familiar to them but, at the same time, inspires them to perceive it from a new perspective. The authors of the exhibition are: Boris Benko (design) and Bruno Vojvodić (copywriting), with the help of statistician Dražen Cukina (DZS - Croatian Bureau of Statistics). The exhibition will be installed in Aquatika – the freshwater aquarium in Karlovac (Croatia) from July 2nd 2019 and open to viewers until the end of 2019. Entrance to the exhibition is free.
