During the 2014.15 season, our creative staff identified that while we mostly use a similar look, we did not always
treat game lockups uniformly. In an effort to unify the Penguins brand, our creative team began building lockups
for the 2015.16 and 2016.17 seasons. While we liked the designs at the time, as we put these lockups into use we
discovered they were not as flexible as we would like them to be.
After carefully reviewing the existing process, I identified the need for a flexible design system that would scale and adjust for all platforms as needed. The simple change of color and consistent use of line allows for nearly endless layouts that coexist. Our team identified these six matchups as the main focus for the 2017.18 and 2018.19 seasons.
