139 World Cup Goals

Small multiple World Cup goals
During 2010 World Cup we (The Sunday Times Graphic department) daily published online every single goal scored during the competition. Files were published in a combination of interactive and static 3d recreations.
Graphics were designed using Carrara 3d software –running in an old 2009 Macbook– rendering the appropriate perspective for best goal representation. Sports journalists annotate the goal sequence and key players. Lines and captions were then edited using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Last stage was edit it in an interactive template.
Goals were always supported by a classic graphic coverage including venues, history results, balls, boats, posters and mascots...
A main menu was also updated daily with the new matches.
England football games as well as World Cup Final match were designed as interactive with animations, hotspots and different content layers (players, venues...).
