With teenagers moving on it was time to re-think the layout of the ground floor to create an airy place for cooking and socialising.

 

Having considered ideas tor creating an open-plan kitchen living area place, this couple were looking for creative inspiration as to the details of the layout. Quality and practicality were the two key requirements, with freedom given to make minor structural alterations if beneficial to the final scheme.

 

With unit fronts in S2 Greige laminate and work tops in eco Luna, this kitchen is not only highly practical but environmentally friendly too.  Extra deep units under the sink run affords a superb preparation area whilst discreet open shelving allows easy access to useful items like cook books and glassware.

 

No longer two rooms but one, this kitchen is now a fantastic space for preparing food  without feeling separate from what is happening in the living room. The easy flow means that when the family visits with their friends there is plenty of room for everyone to gather around for conversation or to help; and no-one is going to get in the way!
