About this project
"Le Départ" (The Departure) is an informative poster about Frutiger typeface’s birth. This emblematic humanist sans-serif was created by the Swiss designer Adrián Frutiger to be used in the signage of the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris (CDG).
Terminal 1(T1) futuristic architecture inspired Frutiger to create the typeface. T1 is recognized for its circular shape reminiscent of Camembert cheese. Consequently, the element that visually dominates the poster consists of five black rings which constitute a graphic representation of this terminal with its five levels.
It should be noted that the color palette emulates the tones used in the first CDG’s signage.

Sobre este proyecto
"Le Départ" (La Partida) es un cartel informativo sobre el nacimiento de la familia tipográfica Frutiger. Esta emblemática sans-serif humanista fue creada por el diseñador suizo Adrian Frutiger para ser empleada en la señalización del aeropuerto Charles de Gaulle de París (CDG).
Frutiger fue inspirada en la arquitectura futurista del Terminal 1(T1), primera parte del recinto aeroportuario en ser construida. El T1 es reconocido por su forma circular que recuerda al queso Camembert. Por consiguiente, el elemento que predomina visualmente en el cartel consta de cinco aros negros que constituyen una representación gráfica de dicho terminal con sus cinco niveles.
Cabe destacar que la paleta de colores emula los tonos usados en la primera señalización del CDG.
