Migrants & Refugees: Give them a Voice
Addressing a trending political topic of 2019, we were given the task to create a series of projects which will educate the public of what there is to know surrounding the topic and develop a campaign for a hypothetical client. The first poster shown gives the audience an organized visual to what elements are involved with migrants and refugees such as who they are, their motives, the laws surrounding the process, how the citizens can benefit, and how this may impact the people of the country of entry. I had included a section which provides the different methods people can help the migrants and refugees people in their journey to a better quality of life.

Poster 2: Campaign Poster for the American Gateways nonprofit organization
The second poster is the campaign poster for my hypothetical client, which is the nonprofit organization, American Gateways. The organization provides legal services to immigrants, refugees, and survivors of persecution, torture, conflict and human trafficking. Within my imagery, I merged the Statue of Liberty's torch and subtle symbols to create an optical illusion. Beneath the imagery, I have incorporated a segment of the poem found at the base of the statue of liberty, the New Colossus by Emma Lazarus. The overall meaning behind the visual is to remind the viewers of how America was built from the sweat and tears of immigrants and is a place of freedom. The torch helps light the way to those who are seeking this freedom. I will not reveal the other hidden symbolisms as I would like to viewer to see it for themselves.

The next and final piece to the series is the animation. With the animation, I took the fire as a symbolism of growing hope that continues to burn brightly as it lights the way to freedom. Below are the storyboards for both the conceptual process and finalized version of the animation.
