A mon arrivée dans la capitale islandaise, les maisons du vieux centre m'ont immédiatement séduite. J’étais fascinée tant par le style architectural des maisons elles-mêmes que par les couleurs qui s'y mêlaient.
Upon my arrival in the icelandic capital city, I was charmed by the houses of the old town. The architecture as well as the colours seemed fascinating to me.
The project Reykjavík in colour and line intends to present the town from a different point of view. With a strictly graphic approach, the structures are lost in a game of lines and colours. The colours sometimes clash, often correspond. The lines slip or collide, creating new spaces. The volume is reduced gradually, the scale becomes imperceptible and the plans merge until the housing itself is obliterated. As the point of view gets closer, previously unnoticed details are revealed. The buildings then become an ensemble of colourful shapes enhancing the uniqueness of the City.
Le projet « Reykjavík in colour and line » s'attache à présenter la ville sous un angle différent. Par une approche purement graphique, les bâtiments se perdent dans un jeu de couleurs et de lignes. Les couleurs parfois s'affrontent, souvent se répondent. Les lignes glissent ou se percutent créant de nouveaux espaces. Le point de vue de plus en plus rapproché met en avant des détails auparavant dissimulés. Le volume se réduit peu à peu, l'échelle devient imperceptible et les plans se confondent jusqu'à l'abstraction même de l'habitat. Les bâtiments ne deviennent alors qu'un ensemble de formes colorées d'où émane la singularité la ville.
