A new school building of 4,353 sqm is located in the Troja district which lays on a hilly landscape overlooking the city center of Prague. The predominant typology of this area is free-standing family villas surrounded by private gardens. The new school is sharing a piece of land with the existing building of gymnasium and the outdoor court that will be used by both students and locals. The layout of new premises replicates the perimeter of the south boundaries of the plot forming well-observed and safe schoolyard, to which a gentle ramp leads from the sidewalk. Students enter the spacious and fully glazed wooden gallery which connects all the core classes. These broad, well-lit and open into the schoolyard galleries are also the indoor free-time space where are students meet and interact.
Нова будівля гімназії та початкової школи розташована в районі Троя на пагорбкуватому ландшафті з видом на центр міста Праги. Переважаючою типологією цієї місцевості є окремі сімейні вілли, розкидані по зелених пагорбах в оточені приватних садів. Нова школа знаходиться на одній ділянці з існуючою будівлею спортзалу та відкритим спорт-майданчиком, які планується використовувати як учнями, так і місцевими мешканцями. Приміщення нової будівлі заплановані уздовж контуру південної частини ділянки, утворюючи безпечне шкільне подвір’я, пов’язане з прилеглим тротуаром пологим пандусом. Розташована навколо подвір’я галерея з’єднує його з головними учбовими класами та виконує роль простору для відпочинку й спілкування. Скляний фасад галереї надає можливість спостерігати за учнями під час перерви, що істотно підвищує рівень безпеки у школі.
