möbel mit geschichte und zukunft
chair
We create a lot of things, but every newly-designed object even the most eco-friendly one consumes resources that the planet is unable to provide in sufficient amounts.
For this reason I tried to find a way of working with objects already in existence, not adding anything new. Inspired by postwar tailors, the various pieces are cut out of old, worn-out furniture with the help of patterns.
In doing so, both the different materials and their surfaces and details such as handles, hinges and locks are emphasised and maintained within the chairs. This offers the ability to awaken memories and to rediscover the stories and experiences behind the various pieces of furniture.
