A Designer Fundraiser

The four officers of The Electronic Design & Multimedia Club at The City College of New York, Yoni Weiss, Kimberly Lum, Jeffrey Louie, and Nicole Vicencio, together conceptualized, produced, installed and brought to fruition CityMade: A Pop-Up Shop, a fundraiser and networking event for the school's art department and community. Bringing together works from over 70 artists and designers, from undergraduate and graduate students to alumni and faculty, we raised over $4,000 in sales of works ranging from neighborhood guide books, custom designed sneakers, silkscreened skateboards to paintings, drawings, illustrations, posters, photography, and printmaking of a wide variety. Time Out New York listed the event in their shopping section both in print and online. Attendance was in the hundreds.

As graphic designers, we acted as our own creative and art directors in developing an entire visual identity system for the event. The logo was designed by Jeffrey Louie; the invitation, pricing guide, and promotional poster were designed by Kimberly Lum. The CityMade tote bags and paper shopping bags were printed by Nicole Vicencio. The chalkboard wall was created by all four of us. Together, we cataloged and installed over 300 unique works to showcase and sell. A blog was kept to display images of the works we featured. The event website can be found here.

Below are featured images from the morning of the event.
