Semaphore Surf Life Saving Club - 2019 Strategic Plan
Semaphore Surf Life Saving Club recently undertook a strategic planning workshop and the club's Board of Management recognised that in order to thrive going forward they would require better planning in all facets of club operations. Several months were spent in defining what they believed the clubs purpose, values and objectives were as well as what actions would need to be completed in the short, mid and long term. Once that was documented the challenge became how to communicate the outcomes with its 400+ members.
In choosing a simple line drawing of a Life Saving Reel, which was historically used by Patrols to rescue people from the ocean, and is still used to day in in traditional events in competition such as March Past, R and R, and Belt Rescue, the design pays respect to the older members but still uses a recognisable image that also imparts a simple hierarchy for the sections of the Strategic Plan (Purpose, Values and Objectives) and using the red and black stripes as dividers to columns recognises the design of the Club Surf Cap.
