The “Casa al Castello Aragonese” project is located in the east area of Ischia island, in conjunction with a flat area and it’s prominent from the perimeter of the promontory.
The project idea is to define the 7 spaces of the house through a central common space, which overlooks the natural pool carved into the ground, around which all the spaces revolve and from which they are generated.
The volume of the house that rests on the ground and at some point on the fortification wall of the island consists of two different types
of spaces:

• the living and sleeping spaces are extroverts and they are opened to the surrounding landscape at 360 °;
• the central area of the dome and small niches in the bathrooms, located inside of the same
thickness, are introverts spaces and they are opposed to the de-sire to open up of other two areas of the house generally more lived.
The living and sleeping areas, placed on different levels, interact with the central void through two cuts that ideally intersect in the same dome: the first facing the water in the living area and the second one facing the sky in the space of rooms. The cuts in the central area, possible thanks to the offset of the plans, allow the par- ticipation of the rooms of the house to the sounds, water reflections and colors of the sky that belong to the space of the dome.
The dome, which is never seen in its entirety, if not in the pool area through a ramp that runs along the perimeter, it becomes a sort of secret and close place of the house, which can be gradually revealed going from “open space” of the living area and sleeping area to the “enclosed space” of niches in the bathrooms, where one senses the size of this central space.
