TUNGA :

1.Magnificent, strong, mighty. 2. Brave, hero. 3. A tiger.

Main goal of the TUNGA Project: Designing a land vehicle which can operate in both low and high intensity warfare and can be used in different conditions and purposes; with a 360-degree situational awareness. This project also aimed to have hybrid, armoured, modular and amphibious aspects. Vehicle should be able to switch between being agile, strong, fast and flexible. Another goal in this project is to make the vehicle not just a transportation instrument but also an active member of the task force and a character.

Project attributes:

HYBRID: TUNGA transmits the power from the diesel engine to wheels with hydraulics and electric cables. The power from the generator and the batteries trespasses through the active suspension system to in-wheel electric hub motor and breaking system. The lack of a mechanical transmission in power train creates more room for more batteries.
Active suspension system adjusts itself to the condition of the path and stabilize the vehicle despite the inclination and the roughness of the road. It also recovers the energy wit the movement of the hydraulic fluid in a dynamo integrated to the system and stores it in batteries.
Independent wheels create an opportunity to use systems like tank tracks and mekanum wheels to create a high manoeuvrability.

COMMAND & CONTROL: Vehicle is equipped with 360° panoramic and spherical cameras which are supported by instruments like LIDAR, IR and Night Vision. The gathered data are synthesised on 160°-degree curved touch screens and AR embedded remote-control helmet to create a full situational awareness.

MODULERITY:  Lifting weapons platform can be combined with a variety of weapons. The stabilization system increases the aim success ratio. The lifting weapons platform gives an advantage for cover positions.

Modules are being positioned with hydraulic bolts.
