School Project: Aspects of Art
In this 6 week school project, we looked at different aspects of art including shading and observational drawing.
Week 1:
For the first week, we produced 5 quick sketches with different mediums: biro, pencil, felt tip and coloured pencil. I think my favourite is the coloured pencil sketch. I like how the colour and texture looks really smooth.
Week 2:
The next week, we had to practice observational drawing by finding 3 objects around us and sketching them using our preferred medium from last week. I practised shading with a biro using cross-hatching techniques.
Week 3:
This week was collages! We were to make a collage of an object we find on our desk. I chose my cat penpot and cut out little pieces from a magazine to put together the picture.
Week 4:
For week four, we had to choose a part of our collage and paint it. I chose one of the pencils in the pot. I used acrylic paint and outlined it with black ink pen.
Week 5:
The final piece! My theme was random things on my desk. I painted it all in watercolour and outlined it with a normal ink pen. I went for a simple, neat look.
