Stop the debate, it’s Octriton’s 🐙🐙🐙
The all-time debate within my home country of Malta was the main spark of inspiration behind this artwork. Two strong parties, the residents of Valletta city (the capital city of Malta) and the residents of the neighbouring town of Floriana, strongly argue between them that the ‘Triton Fountain’ falls under the ownership of their city/town. But who says these are the only players in the picture? Just so you know, the fountain belongs to Malta and a new player is going to put an end to this debate once and for all. ‘Octriton’, the glorious creature who hails from the deepest ocean floor, has come to claim ownership.
This majestic fountain can be spotted just before the entrance of the capital city of Valletta. For this artwork, I had to take several photos of the Triton fountain with a careful attempt to find the best possible angles while avoiding the tourist crowds in the shots who are always admiring its beauty. The fountain in this artwork is composed of three different photos whereas the octopus and its tentacles are a combination of 3D and stock imagery. I also placed a few pigeons to emphasize the proportion of ‘Octriton’ in real life and thus add more realism to the artwork as a whole.
