Accountant turned snack entrepreneur Kevin Harvie started Hectares with the goal of sharing his love of sweet potato crisps with the world.​​​​​​​

After two years of growth Kevin was ready for the next step and he challenged our team to redefine his brand and introduce his crisps to a wider audience.








Using the shape of a sweet potato as a base we designed a unique and expressive illustration style. The style brings to mind the freshly tilled earth of a potato farmer’s field and the dynamic contours of a topographic map.

Using textured type alongside a bold colour palette we created a new look that is vibrant and metropolitan whilst staying true to the product's natural roots.








Drawing further inspiration from map iconography we introduced a range of unique nutrition symbols in the style of map icons. We also designed the back of pack in the style of a map key.

All of these elements helped further establish a clear language for the brand that Kevin can confidently apply, adapt and build upon.
