Artist Statement:
I organized the text in a very specific way. The arrangement of the text; is in a fashion that’s difficult for the viewer to distinguish from “gibberish”, unless looked at in a particular way. Over the course of learning how to screen print, I’ve experimented with blending, stenciling, overlapping prints, & creating different background textures. The meaning behind this work is just because a person may not understand something or someone at first glance, doesn’t mean that’s an excuse for them to dismiss it, and not try to figure it out; Even if it means, figuratively “tearing their head inside out”.
