Red Baron Catering has existed in Germany for decades. However, they want to set up in the UK and were seeking a new brand identity which felt updated from the old German identity. I was given a small jpeg of the original logo.

I decided to keep to a fairly traditional serif font but to use a cleaner vector artwork for the plane. The ribbon stripes came from the client's request to include ribbons. They originally talked about having the plane with the type on a ribbon flying out of the back of the plane. I felt this a little cliched and wanted to try a cleaner more graphic approach to the ribbons.

The client decided against using the more modern plane and I have no adjusted the logo to incorporate a more traditional vector plane. I also designed a holding page for their website which is at www.redbaroncatering.co.uk
