Avenir Type Poster

Typographic Poster
Overview
Avenir is a geometric, sans serif typeface with a bit of a humanistic touch. The humanistic touch can be seen through the thicker vertical strokes than horizontal strokes. This can be seen through the “o” not being perfectly round. Avenir was designed by Adrian Frutiger in 1988. He was a Swiss typeface designer also designing Univers and Frutiger. He later did another rendition of Avenir named Avenir Next with Akira Kobayashi. This typeface takes inspiration from Futura and Erbar. The typeface is used in a multitude of logos. Spotify, Toyota, Nationwide, Girl Scouts, and AOL are some examples.

The Pitch
I designed my poster to match the style of the typeface. The geometric shapes placed carefully around the poster are artistic and symbolic at the same time. I separated the title and the text below it with a thin bar that is rounded off because it shows hierarchy between the author's name and the title, I made the date of release big because it's an important fact that tells us a lot about the context for the typeface.
