Sadarghat Port
Sadarghat port in Old Dhaka is the main port for all the launches down into the vast river delta. About 200 large and small passenger launches (motorized boats) depart and arrive at the terminal every day. According to the officials at the terminal, 50,000 people, in average, use the terminal for departure and arrival every day.
An important connection is Dhaka to Barisal – further more continuing to Patuakhali. There are several launches everyday to these destinations since this area is very busy with garment factories, brick factories, schools, university and a lot of agricultural trading.
