Matrix Partners Displays

This project is an example of going above and beyond for the client.  We don't normally create trade show displays from scratch, but that is what I had to do for this project!

As a whole the project is an example of resourcefulness and creativity to achieve the clients vision.  Everything is fabricated on the fly and some of these examples have never been created by my company before.  All of it needed to be assembled in a few days in order to ship to the Trade show in time!
The client had an idea for what they wanted in each display, it was my job to recommend the materials and methods we would utilize to make their ideas a reality.  All of the engineering, prepress, and finishing work was my responsibility.
One example is creating a way to mount LED screens safely to the backgrounds and using velcro tape so the customer can attach product to the boards at the show.
Another Challenge was creating a custom tray for one of the stands with fabric and carpeting samples to use as a product demo.  Everything was a different thickness so I had to find a way to make it level and secure the tray to the base so it doesn't fly off during a demonstration.  I needed to redesign the clients file to incorporate the unique dimensions of the tray added to the base.  The whole thing was redesigned and constructed from 1/4 inch sintra and adhesive vinyl in about 45 minutes.
I did the prepress work which includes printing, trimming and folding of the brochure in the center.  I needed to die cut the scissors in the center by hand.  It would have been easier if we had a lathe that could handle that, but in this situation I needed to adapt and improvise.
Did I mention the scissors needed to light up?
The client provided the lights, and I needed to find a way to mount the led lights to the back of the scissors.
The challenge for this piece was reworking the graphics to make the display come together nicely.  It needed a base that was 2 inches high and I needed to wrap adhesive vinyl around the trim that surrounds it.  I needed to re-purpose some easel backs to attach the background to the base as well.  It was challenging because I needed to keep the size within 46 x 24 inches.
This one is a similar concept as the previous display.  I scored some gator board in order to get it to bend forward.  Then I could mount the graphic to the board and make the incline in front.
