Boa Vista — Web Design

Boa Vista is an up and coming coffee shop based out of Portland, Oregon. To get funding from investors, Boa Vista needed to have an example of what the homepage of their storefront’s website would look like along with a presentation to explain what they were doing and why they felt the call to do it. The goal here was to create a distinct aesthetic that showed the kind of upfront style required to do well in Portland whilst still showing off the authentic and inspiring story of where the beans came from.
The most vital part of this project was the specific emphasis on the story of where this coffee was grown and the people that grow it. Small elements reference the long history like the geographic overlay and the old paper texture but the center of the homepage emphasizes it best. A vintage logo and an image from the farm paired with a brief history of the culture behind the coffee. The name Boa Vista directly translates in Spanish to “Good View” and a quick Google search of the Brazilian countryside will clarify that name, so we finished it off with an elegantly displayed translation of the phrase.
