In commemoration of the 2012 NY Marathon, New Balance designed a limited edition, NY Marathon 860 sneaker. It was to be sold exclusively at Paragon Sporting Goods Company and we were given a window to showcase it.
The window loosely takes on the view from the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, the starting point of the marathon. Layers of buildings, NY iconography, boroughs, and street names come together to graphically represent the marathon route. We solicited the help of street artist Jimi Crayon to bring alive this NY graffiti inspired concept that also complimented the design of the shoe. A shoe that has become a bit of a collectors item since the marathon was canceled.
From vector layout to finished window, I collaged together some photos that told our installation story from "Start to Finish."
