A collaboration project between myself and photographer Henry Hunt. Talent is Olympic diver Dan Goodfellow.
For this series I experimented a lot with different lighting and colour variations that would add drama to the already very bold and striking images. I chose to lean them towards a more muted, darker tone than originally shot to really draw focus to the athletes emotion and physique in a more subtle manner
Retouching process from Raw to finish. Process included background clean up, basic skin retouch, lighting adjustments and over all mood and grading.
I knew from the start with these images i wanted to create a balance between the cool background and warm skin tones, Above are examples of rough grading ideas to decide which direction to take the image, the key here was choosing the tones and colours that worked best for the bold background and then working the retouch and lighting around this to form the final images.
