Un día, no sé cuál, me levanté, me serví el café, leí el periódico -en papel- y descubrí el mundo dividido súbitamente en dos: lo análogo y lo digital. De un lado los obsoletos, anacrónicos y manuales. Del otro los vanguardistas, listos y binarios. Y yo ahí, sin saber muy bien por qué, atrapado en el medio. De la noche a la mañana el pixel se convirtió en lo último, en la tendencia, en lo más. Y todos, yo incluído, salimos corriendo a buscar uno de esos sofisticados aparatejos con muchos, muchísimos píxeles de resolución. Fuera viejas y obsoletas cámaras, revelados y películas. La imagen digital llegaba para quedarse. Pero la esencia se mantuvo y la gente sigue siendo la misma, exactamente la misma. Hoy los píxeles ceden el turno a los megapíxeles. Aún así, la gente no ha cambiado ni un pelo.

 

One day I woke up, made some coffee, read the newspaper (printed on paper) and discovered a world suddenly divided in two: the analog and the digital. In one hand: the outdated, anachronistic and craft people; in the other hand the vanguard, smarts and binary people… and me, without knowing really why, trapped in the middle.

Suddenly the pixel became the fanciest, “the most”. Everyone, included me, get away running to find one of those sophisticated gadgets with tons of pixels… Goodbye obsolete cameras, goodbye chemical treatments... the “Digital Era” arrived to remain. 

But the essence is the same, the people is the same. Today the pixel yields to megapíxels… But, still people are the same.
