The Central Freeway cuts through San Francisco, forming a dividing line between the Mission and South of
Market neighborhoods and providing high capacity through access. San Francisco has a long history of
resisting and removing freeways. After the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, San Francisco eventually demolished the Embarcadero Freeway and replaced a portion of the Central Freeway with Octavia Boulevard.
This study examines the existing conditions in the Central Freeway Study Area with the goal of understanding prospects for removing all or part of the remaining portion of the Central Freeway.

I examined the traffic along the nearby freeways and surface streets in the area, in addition to creating the graphic standards for all of our studio's boards.
