They say life is like a book. But life is not a book. Life is written on thousands of loose pages. You can tell a story, yes, you can even say that this story is true, but - really - it's all just a matter of choice, decisions, which pages to arrange and in what order. Our story is just that.
(Jo Strømgren)

The performance follows the life of a woman from her birth in 1973 to the anniversary of her birth in 2013. These four decades are a reflection of the time of doubt, hope, struggle, choice and unforeseen events that are guided by heroic virtues - the desire for life and the desire to survive. Wandering through chaotic Europe, the heroine of the performance manages to find a compromise between her own ambitions and forced circumstances. Many layers of the performance not only portray individual searches of a particular man, but also become synonymous with a certain journey of the country and the Dance Theater ensemble. Poland has undergone radical changes over the past 40 years, what are its prospects? The 40th anniversary of the Polish Dance Theater raises the same questions. As a work of art, this performance does not delve into facts and figures. A fictitious point of view, even from a foreign perspective, may well provide the distance necessary for communication at a common level. After all, even the truth is never entirely true, everything is a matter of details that you want to emphasize, ignore or exaggerate.
