Savannah is a very popular tourist destination for its historic significance and the calm environment that it is often associated with. The photographs that people usually remember of Savannah are shot in the daytime and are full of greenery and life.
Having lived in Savannah for almost 3 years now, I know that Savannah doesn’t always have the happy atmosphere that it is often depicted to have. There are many times when I feel an eerie presence around town. Once the sun goes down, I feel that the calmness that is often associated with the historic areas of Savannah turns into a feeling of emptiness.
