O projeto idealizado com o objetivo de desenvolver uma experiência de álbum de música no meio digital. Para dar forma à proposta, optou-se por trabalhar com o álbum Let It Bleed dos Rolling Stones, celebrando seu aniversário de 50 anos.
The project was designed with the purpose of developing a digital music album experience. To shape it, was decided to work with the Rolling Stones' album Let it Bleed, celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Após uma pesquisa qualitativa, percebeu-se certa relutância por parte de fãs de Rolling Stones em explorar inovações tecnológicas no meio musical. Por isso, optou-se por direcionar o projeto a um público já aberto e interessado nesse tipo de interação, mesmo que não sejam pessoas necessariamente fãs da banda. Realizando um novo questionário para essas pessoas e analisando as respostas, definiu-se que o objetivo central do usuário no website projetado seria conhecer melhor o contexto do trabalho dos Rolling Stones enquanto explora sinestesicamente o conceito do Let it Bleed.
After a qualitative research, noticed there was a certain reluctance on Rolling Stones fans about exploring technological innovations in the musical scene. Therefore, it was decided to direct the project to a public already open and interested in this type of interaction, even if they're not necessarily fans of the band. Applying a new questionnaire for these people and analyzing the answers, was defined the central objective of the user on the projected website would be to get to know the context of the Rolling Stones' work while synestesically exploring the concept of Let it Bleed.
O contexto histórico de guerras e assassinatos que rodeou o lançamento do álbum influenciou a composição de diversas letras. Em uma entrevista para a revista Rolling Stone em 1995, Mick Jagger comentou que Let it Bleed tratava-se de uma história sobre o fim do mundo. Essa declaração serviu de gancho conceitual para o site, no qual as canções foram divididas em cinco sentimentos: mistério, nostalgia, êxtase, delírio e harmonia.
The historical context of wars and murders surrounding the album's release influenced the composition of several lyrics. In an interview for Rolling Stone magazine in 1995, Mick Jagger mentioned that Let it Bleed was in fact a story about the end of the world. This statement served as a conceptual hook for the website, in which the songs were divided into five feelings: mystery, nostalgia, bliss, delirium and harmony.
