The Danish Dream | visual communication

An abstract, metaphoric photo series denoting the Danish Dream, through objects that
show how Danes' values act out in everyday life.

Participant involvement was used to visually present how the danish dream has evolved
throughout the times, and how different is it between generations, ethnic groups,
immigrants and natives.
I would have to go with health. It is a bit personal why i have this
answer but, i believe that a lot of people, including me, are always
pushing themselves to be healthy. Some succeed but it is good to
try and help others succeed as well.

The Danish dream, in my opinion has kind of molded with the
American in recent years. Hearing how everyone wants to win the
lottery or find another way to keep their hands off work. But yeah,
just my opinion, I think it would be wealth for the country and
wealth for the people.
- Thomas, 40

What I think of the danish dream is pursuing your own
independence, being your own master and creating whatever you
want, because there are no limits.

- Lisa, 22

One of the values that I portray the best is freedom with
responsibility
. That is something that my parents told me a lot
about when I grew up. Here you have a lot of opportunities, you
have the freedom to choose your own life but that comes with a
lot of responsibilities as well.
- Rebecca, 24

“I think socialism is defining the expression “loving their neighbour”
(Næstekærlighed). You have to look out for everyone and
that has also been very important for me.”
- Pil, 21
For me, the Danish dream is to keep everyone safe, and to fight
for our community. For everyone to pursue whatever they wish,
and to be safe as a nation.
