Lego Readers Blocks
Manifesto

The manifesto documents the design process I took to create a new brand branching off from Lego called Lego Readers Blocks.Lego Readers Blocks is much like Lego Education, a system created by Lego that has been implemented within a number of schools worldwide to teach students about science and robotics.
The Solution that I am proposing is a reading competition; the objective for this strategy is to promote literature amongst students from ages 9-14.Distributed around primary schools within NSW, students will buy a Lego kit and with it will come a book, and some Lego pieces. Students will need to read and finish the given book and re-create their favorite part out of the Lego provided then showcase their work in the school library to be judged by teachers separated into the years that they are in. Students can then photograph and upload their work online to vote for their favorite one and be in the running for the state prize. The winners will receive books and Legos for their school.

With this piece I wanted to showcase my ability to utilize the products I was working with (Lego) and create a new sub-product whilst staying coherent to the brands key merchandise. By using primary colors of Lego and making a link to the primary colors and primary schools, I believe the idea is achieved and communicated well. Along with the use of type which creates a dynamic and playful feel without straying too far from the original concept.
