My crowning achievement while attending classes, The Arch Barrel Clock conceptual art/design. Last word on the project; ground breaking in April of 2013. The architect has done a redesign but essentially is still very close to this concept. The location has been changed from this side location to the center of the same grounds between the buildings. Another hundred feet back. This was created with hand drawn illustration and Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.
Arch Clock Project: "Pat Harrison Clock Plaza"
Completed Summer 2013
Vice Chancellor Terry Nolot sent me this night photo of the completed project!! Terry and I worked together on this project while I did the original concept art and design. It did change a little bit but the concept and general style is the same. I'm very proud of this one!! It will surely out live me on campus for sure!!

Jurors Choice Award: Technical
Best of Jury; 3D Rendering and Animation
Students Choice Award                                                                                     (Maxon Cinema 4D)

My first 3D animation, A spoof of Harry Potter. A three minute film short created in two weeks (ten days during Finals). I also took advantage of the school's studio equipement to generate a green screen effect of myself defeating Harry's arch enemy, Voldermort. For the credits I took the time to thank certain instructors for the education they gave and the special efforts we all appreciated.
As of December 2013, this project was awarded a Bronze in the LGDA Top 100 Show (Louisville Graphic Design Assocaition) and, in Febraury 2014, was included in The Grand Film Festival held by the Arts Council of Southern Indiana where I represented Ivy Tech on the education panel.

Best of Jury: Electronic Imaging (Adobe Photoshop)

The Faux Landscape Project. A photo compilation to create a scene that couldn't possibly exist. This project was created over a one and a half week period.
Best of Jury: Electronic Illustration (Adobe Illustrator)

A program I learned in an 8 week course over the summer of 2011. The problem was to create a fictional "Ray Gun" and this was my solution. This project was created over a one week period.

This was an interactive digital book. Included was a musical score and scores for mood changes within the story. Each line of the story could be activated to hear the characters talk. Animals, characters and pages themselves were animated and interactive. The scenes were done through photo compilations, mostly made up of my own photography.
Student's Choice Award: Graphic Design 1 (Derby Poster)

The Problem was to use the Art Nouveau Style to create a Kentucky Derby Poster. This was hand done in watercolor and water color pencils and ink. Yes, even the text was hand drawn. I did use Adobe Photoshop to create the layout and design along with my sketch book. This was my solution.
A design project for Graphic Design 2 I simply enjoyed doing. The problem was to create a design that represented the thought or word "Inspiration" while using only type. I created a brush of the word in a particular font, painted in layers of masked colors in the program Adobe Photshop. This was my solution.
A study in photography and natural lighting. This is a photo of my wife in our back yard. Yes, her eyes are that color in this lighting. I did not change the color at all. The only enhancement this photo recieved was to punch the saturation and vibrance up +3 in Adobe Bridge before placing the text, created in Adobe Illustrator, in Adobe Photoshop.
Graphic Design 2 class. Problem; Select and use a guide, the style of a selected Designer. You had to use all of the information within the project, make it fit and balance it. The imagery was created in Adobe photoshop using mask and digitally paiting, then placing those images in Adobe InDesign. Logo header created in Adobe Illustrator. This was my solution.
Graphic Design 2. Problem: Create a cover for the MegaZINE with the theme "Imagination". I thought to use three items popular to the term; a child, magic and a book. The boy is my 9 year old step son. The monsters hands are mine.  The book is a hand made book from scratch I created as a journal for another class. A little creative photography and working those resources in Adobe Photoshop and then placing them into Adobe InDesign was my solution. Glitter, flares, claws and dusty smoke are digitally painted in Photoshop.
Drawing Class. We were to take an already existing photo and draw that picture. I had taken the family on the Belle of Louisville and took this photo of my, then 13 year old, step son when leaving the dock. This was the drawing in pencil.
A neighbor of mine had seen some of my art and asked if I would draw her little girl. She provided the pictures of what she wanted and I chose two and drew them in pencil. The larger, facing view, she had birthday cake on her face.
