Brainstorm
The purpose of this project is to understand the design process by designing a board game from scratch. This game is a mixture of Monopoly and Chess. As a team, we were tasked to research and come up with a game structure and also do the branding and packaging. I was responsible for all the 3d work such as the game mechanic, Solid Works, technical drawings, laser cutting, researching into materials, developing, rapid prototyping and game testing. Other team members were focused on the board graphics and branding. Together as a team, we brought everything together and formed a manual
Early concepts of the board and development.
Ideas based on different themes, working out the layout and the mechanics of the game. 
Prototypes of monopoly style cards for the game test.
Design process, game testing, developing and ideating.   
Game testing
Design sketches of buildings that will be part of the game. 
Used existing products to test the game mechanics out for flaws before designing anything else.  
Design sketches of pieces that will be used in the game, also each pieces has different abilities, powers and movements. I had to give each pieces their own design and character so players can identify the correct piece during the game.   
Made the pieces out of plastic and use the laser cutter to cut loads of parts in a short period of time.

Game theme was based on world war two. Researched into buildings around the time of the war to help us to relate the game back to the war.

Using magnets to attach an upgrade piece to piece.
