When Kent-based wealth management specialists Weald Wealth moved to a bigger premise of almost 4,000 sq ft, it took the chance to encompass an agile way of working and replace tired office furniture. MPL Interiors created an open plan workplace with a communal kitchen at its heart.

Weald Wealth came to us after inheriting a traditional office set up, with lots of small rooms and a rather oppressive feel.

We started with a new space layout and our reconfiguration illustrated how the floor could be opened up. Walls were knocked down to create a light interior space with an open kitchen, included to encourage employees to have informal meetings over a coffee. We were mindful to build in enough storage in the kitchen so the space stayed clutter free, with handle-free cabinetry and a glass-topped island unit for a sleek show room look. Our space design also included a break out room with seating and microwave, as the client wanted staff to heat up food and eat lunch away from the open plan area.
