WindUP Phone Charger
One of my first ever projects, set back in college, was to create a phone charger that campers and explorers could rely on to charge their devices, no matter where they were, or when they needed it. After setting myself the brief of creating a wind up phone charger I began the journey of designing the product...
Sketch Work
The sketch stage. The start point for every piece of design around us, as this was an early project for me the sketches are somewhat simplistic however I feel they serve as a good demonstration as to how I have developed as a designer.
Model/Prototype stage
I then began the hardest stage. creating a working prototype that met all my inital requirements. Due to the electrical components within, the majority of the development took place hidden within. These atre but a few of the many prototypes created, before arriving at the final product.
Circuit board creation
Just creating a concept wouldnt sufice for me. This lead me to begin the devlopment of my PCB circuit board that would bring my inital concept to life. Although these images don't show it, there were many, many failed circuits. Turns out iPhones are very particular on what allows them to charge.
Beauty Renders
Although my final product sadly didn't look like these renders due to various restraints, these beauty renders are to show what it could someday become.
Final Product
Although the aesthetics certainly have room for improvement, i was over the moon that i was able to create a final working product that to the best of my knowledge simply did not exist in the market and having it meet my inital brief perfectly.
