the Mineral Springs of Beitou, Taipe

Motion Graphics: the Mineral Springs of Beitou, Taipei

This video reflects my strong affection to the place, Beitou, where I was born and grew up.  When I was little, I enjoyed hot spring baths with my family and heard a lot of historic stories of Beitou from the elderly living in the place their whole lives, so I decided to introduce the history of its unique sulfur springs from the Qing Dynasty (in the 19th century), to the Japanese period (1895-1945). Though Beitou has been through its ups and downs, the hot springs bring joy to everyone has remained an unchanged constant throughout its rich history.

At the beginning of the video, each Chinese word corresponds to the Beitou area’s features, and then the image of words becomes a box, followed by the text describing Beitou in Chinese popping up. Within a second, the text of Beitou returns to the box, then after shaking the box, the word becomes a drop in the hot springs, pouring out from the box, and the story begins.
