Pazuzu Trilogy
by Matthew Sawyer
The Cortras brothers accidentally kill the nephew of the crime lord Judah Bathierre. They flee the city of Gomorrah in fear for their lives. The brothers believe they'll slip Bathierre's reach in the walled city called Capital. As the Cortras brothers cross the desert, they encounter a man wandering the waste alone. The brothers believe he is the heathen terrorist, Ilu Drystani, and hope to collect the reward for the man's arrest. The stranger joins the Cortras brothers. He doesn't tell them about the voice following him.  One man, suffering amnesia, carries salvation and damnation from the desert.

A hit man, Robber Veritos, is contracted to kill an extorting priest.  This brings him to an encounter with Pazuzu. The demon claims the occupants of Saint Erasmus and demon will not tolerate interruptions. Pazuzu plans to possess a mortal body. Mortality is the next step in the demon's scheme to battle alien gods eating the souls of the dead.

Before dying, Tamara Stoughnt proclaimed her demon-possessed son the reincarnation of the messiah. Pazuzu and his heathen minister cross the fires of Capital in search of the flock gathered by the mother of the possessed boy.

Hen Cortras is captured by the Chosen's military, beaten and sent to the Smyrna detention camp outside Capital. He meets the charismatic heathen leader, Ilu Drystani, and joins the heathen's march on Capital.

In the midst of city's destruction, Margot Sebash confronts the negative aspects of her illicit affair with her old friend, Mark.
