OF WINE AND MEN

At first, fascinated by the beauty of the rhythms and colors of the vineyards around Bordeaux, I approached Château Corbin's owner Jacques Rambeaud, who kindly welcomed me during four seasons between 2015 and 2016 to document the complete wine process making in his vineyard.

Saint-Emilion, near Bordeaux is one of the most coveted wine-producing communes in the south-west part of France. Shiny as the river that dominates these lands, is the collective imaginary most people might have from the precious red liquid and its 1000 years history in this path.
But what is really behind the shiny glass?

The decor inside the stunning buildings is far from refine. The ancient spaces hold not only tradition, but also patience, tenacity and hard work of woman and men that labor almost none stop during years with the glorious grape. This photo-essay seeks to honor the knowledge and perseverance of those people working in the field, as well as to reveal new imaginaries about what is really behind the shiny glass.
