Get Set Festival 2012 - Open Tiles (Digital Branding)

In scope of the post-graduation in Motion Design, our class was responsible for making all the digital material having by premise, the theme "Decadent Beauty".
So, we had to develop logo, open titles, sponsor titles, bumpers, coffee breaks, lower thirds and end credits. My group was selected to do the open titles, the lower thirds and the logo. So, the main concept was to create a new lettering based on the balconies and the gates of the Almada street.
For the open credits we tought that these kinds of structures could be used as main structures and as the heart of the building. The lower thirds and the logo addressed more the the grids of the balconies, as if they were a part of the structure.

Alphabet:
By mixing diferent shapes and patterns present on the ornaments of the iron balconies, we were able to create a kind of a lettering from certains pieces of these ornaments inserted in the grids of the Almada street balconies. In response to preserve that side of decadence present in the main theme of the festival and all over the Almada street, but a beauty decadence, we preserved some textures forms, and visual noise, trying to reach that purpose.
