Highschool Art -2015
Index Card Collection:
I self Taught myself to draw, mostly on index cards during my English classes, leading to by proficiency at drawing in great detail at very small scale. The pattern focus style developed because that was the best style for drawing while still listening to the teacher. It actually helped me in class, keeping my mind occupied enough to stop it from wandering.
Scaling Up
Tempest Tower
Tempest Tower was an early achievement and one of my first drawings I was Really proud of. I drew it on normal 8.5x11 printer paper, the largest I had worked on in this hightly detailed style up until this point. Its not the most visually interesting, lacking striking contrast of any sort, but to this day very few of my drawings have achieved this level of hidden imagery. *just try to find the solider walking with the old sage. *
Night And Eclipses
Still some of my favorite works today and are as of yet the peak of my zen-like style. Ive have in recent years been transitioning and experimenting with other styles, like incorporating color and horror into my art.
Night
Night was drawn at the end of my senior year of high school and represented the exiting and scary feelings from the transition.
Eclipsis
Eclipsis was drawn during my first month at MVCC when I was still trying out cybersecurity (spoiler it didn't work). It represented getting back into a new rhythm with college life. We will always have a routine but it will shift from time to time and the overlapping and rippling cyclical designs reflect those different routines we take in different times in our lives.
