THE STORY
Marigold. But when in India, ‘Gende ka phool’! Spot thousands of them in every nook and corner of the Indian streets or as we say ‘gallis’. It’s incredible to walk the streets and see such bright, bold colors. But, one thing that truly is inspiring about marigold is it’s versatility. It is passionate and has the character to spruce up any occasion. It is culturally rich, spiritual and is staple in Indian traditions as it can be seen hanging on the fronts of all modes of transport, weddings, doorways. I fell in love with garlands and charms of marigold flower, made by almost every flower seller having their own signature design. So fresh and so vibrant! And above all it makes summers more exuberant, Happy Middle Indian summers, folks!
THE PROJECT
Middle Indian Summer is a textile based project. Inspired by marigold flowers, a digital print was designed. The print was then transferred onto a fabric, and stitched into a beautiful laptop sleeve.
