Tips to Increase Your Home's Value
Raking, trimming, and basic tending to your lawn are the first thing we may think of when we want to make the yard look nice, but do you ever wonder what else you can do to make your lawn “pop” without spending a ton of cash?

Here are 5 things you can do to make your yard the prize of the neighborhood while spending under $100.
Lay down mulch.
Mulch serves several purposes for your yard and garden. Primarily, it makes it much harder for weeds to grow through a thick layer, and it also protects your plants’ roots from harsh sunlight in the summer. But a good, dark mulch can also help create a contrast for vibrant colors of flower petals to really show. Mulch is just a few bucks a bag, so it’s a great investment for your yard at a very fair price.
Edge.
By creating a hard edge between your lawn and garden beds (and walk paths or driveways), you’ll be able to make your lawn look very clean and taken care of. A hand trowel would do the job handily, but if the areas you would be edging are a lot bigger and require more work, you could still get a cordless or gas-powered edger for under $100.
Power wash your house.
A super useful trick to make the yard look nice is making sure your house looks nice to match. If your yard is amazing but your house looks shoddy, the yard won’t look as great. Luckily, power washers can be bought for under $100 or you could even rent one twice a year in order to keep your house’s siding looking brand new.

Get an old bench.
Benches can transform a space in your yard by giving it presence and a sense of purpose. Getting an old wooden bench from an antique shop or yard sale isn’t too tough, and no matter what condition it’s in, there’s always the possibility of sanding it out and painting it up to make it look new again. Putting it near a bed of flowers or under a tree gives your yard a classic, clean look.
Build a firepit.
Perhaps one of the more fun projects on this list, building a fire pit can make your yard look put together and a fun place to hang out. But it also shows you are a fun person yourself, because who doesn’t like kicking back by the warmth of a fire pit on a cooler night? Top end pits may run you far over $100, but it’s not hard to throw together a legit pit with flat bricks or stones layered on a gravel surface for cheap.

These are just a few simple ways to make your yard look great and put together beyond mowing, weed eating, and trimming shrubs.
