I art directed and designed this 152 page travel guide for two years. The project was large and involved many players and components. The clients were the State of Washington Tourism Department and the Washington State Hotel Motel Association, who both partnered with TSI Creative to publish the guides. Additionally, I worked with the ad agency who was responsible for the campaign theme each year.

 

Some photography came from state archives, while other photos were shot by our staff photographer, under my direction. We were tasked with representing all corners of the state. Editorial content was generated by in house copywriters. Advertisements were sold and designed as needed by our design staff.

 

All lodging facilities in the state had an opportunity to participate if they wished, both in listings and advertisements. The listing database was configured so that any amenities that a property offered were coded and automatically converted to a customized icon font that I built using Fontographer.
