In the house of the culture of Marinilla, Antioquia is an open and accessible to the public institution, processes of cultural development arranged between the community and state entities, aimed at the preservation, transmission and promotion of artistic and cultural samples of the community. It is a place for a community to develop activities that promote culture among its inhabitants.

The house of culture has a physical plant that provides facilities for the teaching and practice of different cultural expressions, as well as for dissemination, training, training, research, organization and support for artistic creation, giving workshops in different artistic areas such as dance, theater and oral narration, music, plastic arts, literature, among others; and aimed at children, youth, adults and seniors.

It is a meeting place for the articulation of social and cultural processes that enable the inclusion of the population in order to design policies, enable rights, give access to art, develop training and training activities in the different artistic and cultural areas, supporting artistic creation and promoting cultural exchange.

The Houses of Culture usually have libraries, playrooms, auditoriums, cultural workshops for dances, music, plastic arts, theater and other activities generally free or at affordable prices for the community. This type of premises are of great importance for the preservation of local culture, especially in rural communities that lack theaters, cinemas or concert halls. The House of Culture, place that houses the Municipal Public Library, the Historical and Archaeological Museum (which preserves a room dedicated to Independence and the heroes of Marinilla, as well as an archeology room with pieces of pre-Hispanic pottery), and the Museum of the Christs, in which the one that is considered the largest collection of crosses, christs and crucifixes in the world, with a total of 2,700 images.
