The main objective of this project was to brand a museum, in which I chose the Museum of Hoaxes.
Museum of Hoaxes is an online based museum since 1997. The museum explores deception, mischief,
and misinformation throughout history.

The challenge in this project was to re-create the museum into a physical museum welcoming visitors on
a more hands-on experience with hoaxes. I kept the logo simple, straight, and almost corporate looking to
carry on the idea of hoaxes having high sense of credibility. By renaming the museum as the Hoax Museum,
I was able to play with the orientation of the word “HOAX”, allowing for hidden words of expression to be
found such as HA, HO, OH, etc. The Hoax Museum is applied into various applications with the final application of the museum entrance and juxtaposed mugshots of the visitors, which can be retrieved via QR code.

Final Application

The central application for Hoax Museum is a photo that visitors can view by accessing the QR code on their tickets. Every visitor will take a photo as he/she enters the museum and this database of visitors’ photographs will be compiled into juxtapositions of different visitors. The juxtaposed photo, in which that particular visitor is the central figure, can be retrieved with the QR code and the photo can be viewed via on their smart devices.
