Not much is known about Aeron. At the age of 14, he was found by a fisherman in the water to the east of Lavender Town. He appeared to have amnesia and could remember nothing other than being attacked by a Gyarados. The fisherman took him in and raised him for a year.
In that year Aeron became obsessed with training Pokemon with the aim of finding the Garydos that cost him his past and beating him. Aeron's training was brutal, and after an argument with the fisherman about Aeron physically disciplining his Espeon, Aeron ran away.
In the following years, Aeron was spotted around Route 10 and The Rock tunnel and was rumoured to be living in a cave off of the rock tunnel. He had been seen consuming various Berries intended for Pokemon.
Until last year, the story of Aeron was believed to be nothing more than a myth until he appeared in Lavender town. He claimed to be practicing dark magic and that he and his 6 very aggressive Pokemon were ready to find and take out the Gyarados that drove his obsession.
He wasn't seen for six months, where he appeared in Lavender town once again, with the addition of a red Gyarados tattoo on his right arm, symbolizing his defeat of the Gyarados and the end of his obsession. Although he is much more sane and more social than he used to be, Aerons harsh behavior towards his Pokemon is frowned upon, and his involvement with dark magic makes the locals wary of him.
