"La Hache" (the axe) is a restaurant whose history dates back to 1257 ! The name of the place, unchanged since that date is a probable reference to the inglorious past of this executioner's house...

The new owners, less brutals, want to propose real "bistro food", ie classic dishes but quality and inspired.

The project plays on this ambivalence between a place with a rough past and a more munificent present, scoring all his aesthetic in a game of contrasts between materials sometimes rich and sometimes austere : the hanging axes oppose to very graphic alignments of white dishes ; the rough wood ceiling contrast with an old parquet floor ; the leather seating are face to wooden benches… The bar, a major element of this place and extended by a host table, is made ​​from old cutting boards surmounted by a polished copper surface, with reference to the timeless quality of the chief's saucepans.

Suspended panels made with acoustic fabric materialize the bar area volume, while others on walls plays with colors and lights to wrap the room in a cozy atmosphere, conducive to the feeling of sober elegance desired for this restaurant only open in the evening.
