King Kong Cut Paper Illustrations

After taking a product illustration class I was hooked on cut paper. I had never before considered cutting up tiny pieces of paper with only an exacto knife, a pair of tweezers, and glue and being able to "draw" with them. My first illustration with this technique was to illustrate a scene from the movie King Kong. I really wanted to give as much three dimensional depth as I possibly could.
The full scene: Sometimes you can't help, but extend beyond the borders. It's a little difficult to not build the entire plane even when you know you're cutting it off.
